Purdue University trustees have approved a plan for a $16 million renovation of Harrison Residence Hall.

The plan includes a new sprinkler system and will add air conditioning to all student rooms. Construction is scheduled to take place in three phases during the summers of 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Trustees also approved a resolution that will allow the university to temporarily borrow up to $50 million for future construction projects.

Harrison Hall was built in 1966.
