A man who was free on bond after being charged with murder was found shot to death in his sport utility vehicle at an intersection in Gary.
Police found 30-year-old Donald D. Sutton dead behind the wheel of his Cadillac Escalade about 3:30 Thursday afternoon. They say Sutton's foot was still on the brake and the car's transmission was in drive. Shell casings were found by the driver's side door.
Police have no suspects.
Sutton was released on $7,500 bond Oct. 4. He was charged with killing 18-year-old Julio Rios, Jr., of Hammond, in August.
Sutton reportedly told police he shot Rios after seeing him break into his vehicle outside a bar.
