Federal prosecutors say a former employee of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department plans to plead guilty to stealing $45,000 in government grants to the department.
Fifty-nine-year-old George Alexander of Greencastle was arrested in May after four days on the run.
Prosecutors say he diverted money from two grants to the sheriff's department in December 2005 and September 2006 into his personal bank account.
Alexander surrendered May 21st to a police officer at a Rockville campground after he saw the officer there on an unrelated call.
He remains in federal custody pending a court hearing, which has not yet been scheduled.
