INDIANAPOLIS One hundred immigrants from nearly 40 nations will have extra reason to celebrate during the Fourth of July holiday weekend after achieving their dreams of becoming American citizens.

They'll take part in a special naturalization ceremony Wednesday in Indianapolis at the historic home of 19th century President Benjamin Harrison. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will oversee the ceremony.

The immigrants hail from 39 nations, with the largest number of them from India, followed by Mexico and Nigeria.

Nationwide, more than 7,800 people are scheduled to become citizens this week during more than 100 special ceremonies in the U.S. and abroad. The naturalization ceremonies are being held in celebration of the nation's 237th birthday.
