State Police have reopened one northbound lane along Interstate 65 in northern Indiana following a series of crashes that killed one person and seriously injured two others.

Sgt. Dan Leslie of the Lowell post says the left northbound lane of I-65 south of Roselawn in Jasper County reopened Saturday afternoon several hours after three crashes involving about 20 vehicles.

Crews are continuing to clean-up the northbound lanes following two crashes involving a dozen northbound vehicles. One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in those crashes. A third crash also occurred in southbound lanes.

Leslie says reduced visibility caused by fog and also smoke from a burning dairy barn apparently caused the crashes about 50 miles southeast of Chicago.
