South Bend Clinic offering free skin cancer screenings

It may not be something you've thought about before but the American Cancer Society recommends everyone get a skin-cancer related check up every year, starting at the age of 20.

This weekend, the South Bend Clinic located at 2102 Inwood Road is offering those screenings for free. The goal of the clinic is to give patients who don't have a dermatologist or primary care doctor the chance to get checked out.

Doctors also say they want to use the screenings to educate people about sun protection.

If you want a free screening you must make an appointment. To do so, call (574) 204-6000. The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
