The FDA has issued a new warning just in time for Halloween.

They say adults 40 and older should be careful about eating too much black licorice.

According to the FDA, if you eat more than two ounces of the candy every day for two weeks it can cause your potassium levels to tank.

Experts say that's due to a sweetening compound in the candy derived from licorice root.

The FDA warns that eating too much of the candy can lead to a host of problems including irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure.
