South Bend community leaders stood together Thursday to act out against an issue that's taking more young lives across the country every year.
Memorial Hospital held a meeting, they called a "plunge," Thursday afternoon to present the health issues now associated with cyber bullying.
Research suggests victims of cyber bullying are more likely to have problems academically, as well as having bouts with violence, depression, and even suicide.
Margo Demont with Memorial Hospital said, "Any kind of bullying or anger or violence affects the child’s brain. It damages their ability to grow additional neurons to be more active with neuro-transmission."
