Doctors who lead healthy lifestyles likely to recommend the same for patients

Doctors may recommend daily walks to their patients if they practice what they preach.

A survey of 1,000 doctors found they were twice as likely to recommend five basic healthy lifestyle choices like exercising, limiting sodium intake, eating healthy and quitting smoking when they generally followed the same guidelines.

Less than a third of surveyed doctors exercised at least five days a week.
