CPSC recommends anchoring furniture

If you have young kids at home, listen up.

The consumer product safety commission is urging parents to make their homes safer by anchoring televisions and furniture.

A new report shows that from 2000 to 2010, the CPSC received reports of more than 200 tip-over related deaths, involving children eight years old and younger.

In more than half of the fatalities, the child was crushed by a television, furniture or appliance.

The CPSC says more than 22,000 young children are treated in hospital ER's every year due tip-over incidents.
