Young children can have hearing and vision problems and never know it, but one local agency is putting a stop to it.
The Berrien County Health Department is performing a series of hearing and vision screenings that are free to the public.
Under Michigan state law, all children must have the screening done prior to entering kindergarten.
The spring and summer months are the ideal time to get the screenings done because parents can take steps to correct the problem before school starts in the fall.
If you are a resident of Berrien County, your child can receive the free hearing and vision tests at a number of test sites.
The next screening will take place at Countryside Academy in Millburg on Friday.
