At 670 pounds, former amateur sumo wrestling champion Emanuel "Tiny" Yarbrough's nickname doesn't really fit, but he's getting closer.
Since July, the 43-year-old New Jersey man has lost over 100 pounds on a prescribed diet combining shakes and protein bars with a balanced evening meal.
A hospitalization for heart failure earlier in the year gave Yarbrough the motivation he needed to go see a weight loss specialist. His goal is to eventually weigh 550 pounds, improve his health and compete again in sports.
The former sumo champ says losing weight is "a day-by-day process" and "a matter of trying to have more good days than bad."
What is his worst temptation? Football days, when Yarbrough says he was used to getting together with friends, drinking a lot of beer and eating a lot of wings.
