Pedestrian struck by car, later pronounced dead

A Michigan woman was killed after getting hit by a car while she was looking for her missing dog.

Police tell us the accident happened Tuesday morning around 1:36 on M-152 near the Cass and Van Buren County lines.

The driver was traveling north on M-152 and ultimately struck the 24-year-old woman, from Schoolcraft, who police say was standing in the north bound lane trying to find her missing dog.

She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead around 5:00 a.m.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Police are continuing their investigation.
