After days and days of snow, relief could be in sight.
For some businesses a little bit of snow has been good.
At Tire Rack in South Bend sales for winter tires go up when the snow starts to fall.
They tested two identical cars at their track. One car had the all-season tires, versus winter tires.
The traction on the winter tires from Michelin helped the car stop almost immediately on a snowy road.
“Winter tires cost about the same as all-season tires but as long as you own your car you will go through at least two sets in its lifetime. So you might as well own two sets of tires. One set will rest while you use the other,” says Woody Rogers from Tire Rack.
If you are considering getting snow tires they cost the same as all-season tires.
But you'll need to find a place to store them and have them put on and taken off twice a year.
