Every home should have a weather radio, since you’re not always watching TV, and the weather radio will alert you when severe weather is occurring in your area.

The radios are pretty easy to program. Instructions are included in the box. You will just need to tune it to the channel that comes in the best, and then program in the counties you want to be warned for.

Storm Team 16 and helpful experts will be at the following Walgreen's locations from 9a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 11 to help program:

  • 2400 E. Center Street (Center & Argonne), Warsaw

  • 15005 State Rd. 23 (Fir & 23), Granger

  • 1400 Cassopolis St. (Cassopolis & Bristol), Elkhart

  • 1260 Hilltop Road, St. Joe, MI

You can also watch an online tutorial with meteorologist Frank Waugh, to learn how to do it at home.

If you don't already have a weather radio, they can be purchased at Walgreen's for about $30.
