A second Warsaw woman has been arrested for her involvement in the alleged striking of a 4-year-old toddler.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies went to the residence of Jolene Marie Swihart, 30, in the 1600 block of East County Road 200 North, Warsaw, last evening at 9:13 p.m. and arrested her on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in serious bodily injury to a victim less than 14-years-old.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and officials with the Department of Child Services initially began an investigation on Monday at the same residence that led to the arrest of Sherena Michele Harris, 26, on charges of battery resulting in bodily injury to a victim under the age of 14-years-old as well as neglect of a dependent.
During the course of the interviews, investigators determined that Swihart had also kicked and potentially injured the same 4-year-old toddler on other previous occasions. Swihart was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail and is currently being held on a $5,000.00 bond.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office advises that the defendant’s charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
