Warsaw police have launched a death investigation after a man’s body was found at a vacant duplex.

Police were called out to 228 N. Fort Wayne Avenue around 7:30 Thursday night to conduct a welfare check on an unresponsive male.

Upon their arrival, emergency crews found a 56-year-old Randall Jones unresponsive on the duplex’s steps. Crews rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name has not been released yet and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Early Friday morning, another Warsaw resident, Frankie Lee Poe, was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on preliminary charges of residential entry to the same vacant duplex.

The 40-year-old is being held without bond and is considered a person or interest in this death investigation.
