On Saturday, you can help a Michiana student succeed at the beginning of the school simply by donating to our annual "16 pack-a-backpack" supply drive.
Friday on "16 Morning News" we took you to Meijer to show you what supplies are needed. Again, Meijer, McDonald’s and Notre Dame Federal Credit Union have helped team up with WNDU for this year's drive.
We'll have crews at McDonald's locations in Plymouth, St. Joe, and Goshen as well as here at the WNDU studios parking lot.
Items that can be donated include pens, pencils, backpacks, markers, scissors, and much more. Anything a child would need to start the school year.
Meijer even has lists you can grab to see what is needed for each grade level.
“We wanted to try and impact as many children as we can by getting them in grade school and getting them a new backpack when it really really is important,” said Rick Zeeff, Meijer store director.
And our annual supply drive is tomorrow during "16 Saturday Morning" from 7 to 10 a.m.
