WNDU's Kate Chappell and Tricia Sloma take the ice bucket challenge to fight ALS

South Bend, Ind. Our 16 Morning News anchors Tricia Sloma and Kate Chappell were nominated by 'Friends of Faye' and several viewers to take the ice bucket challenge for ALS awareness.

On Thursday, they dumped the ice cold water on themselves in our WNDU parking lot and each made a donation to the ALS Association.

Tricia has now nominated the weather team: David Harker, Mike Hoffman, Cindi Clawson and Gary Sieber.

Kate nominated the sports team: Jeff Jeffers, Angelo Di Carlo and Jim Johnston. To learn more about ALS or make a donation yourself, click here.

So far $40 million dollars have been raised in the same time span the ALS Association raised $2 million last year.
