Volunteers play extras in local movie filming

South Bend, Ind. Filming of the movie Swan Song, is ending soon, but before they wrapped up, they needed your help.

The crew needed about 400 extras for the remaining scenes of the film.

They encouraged anyone who was interested to visit the IU South Bend auditorium at 10 a.m.

Extras and volunteers were there bright and early, but they never hit the 400 mark.

Either way, those who participated were excited.

"Well, extra experience is a lot of fun,” said Jim O'Donoghue, an extra in the film. “You get to see what's going on. You're part of the overall show and sometimes you actually get to meet somebody that is in a movie."

Extras were told to dress casually for the shoot.

The movie is directed by John Hancock.

The film's wrap date is August 15th.
