After Monday's raid, Jagwinder Singh, 36, was charged with a felony and misdemeanor count of dealing a synthetic drug.
He's since been taken into custody by U.S. Immigration.
A confidential informant made two separate controlled buys at Eddy Street Food Mart, where Singh was a clerk.
Both times, the substance bought tested positive for synthetic drugs.
Probable cause was found. Bond was set at $10,000 corporate surety or $1,000 cash.
Singh will remain in federal custody, and he has until June 26 to appear for arraignment.
