DOSWELL, Va. - Organizers have canceled a balloon festival that was to open today in Virginia after a balloon caught fire and crashed during a kickoff event last night. State police say one body has been found and the other two people who were on the balloon are feared dead.

Police received eyewitness reports that two occupants either fell or jumped from the burning balloon after it struck a power line.

The crash occurred near the Meadow Event Park in rural Caroline County, where 20 balloonists were to participate in the Mid-Atlantic Balloon Festival. The venue 25 miles north of Richmond is also the site of the Virginia state fair.
