Two men sentenced after involvement with an armed robbery last summer

Two men involved in an armed robbery last summer in Elkhart have learned their punishments.

That's according to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth.

Earlier this year, 20-year-olds Jayzahn Creel and Earl Hogan pleaded guilty to burglary, two counts of armed robbery and criminal confinement.

Thursday Creel was sentenced to 35 years in prison and 17 years probation, while Hogan got 38 years behind bars and 22 years probation.

The two men were a part of a group of four who robbed a home in the 300 block of West Jackson Boulevard last July.

Investigators say they held a female resident hostage, threatening to shoot her, and actually pulling the trigger while they had it pressed against her head. Thankfully, the gun did not fire. Two children were also inside during the robbery.

One of their accomplices, Clarence Parker, has also pleaded guilty to the crime and will be sentenced in June.
