Tricia Sloma, Maureen McFadden take part in Diapering Duel fundraiser

For mothers, the art of changing diapers is not so much an art as much as it is about getting things done quickly and cleanly. Diaper-changing speed was put to the test Wednesday in South Bend.

It was B.A.B.E and More's Dirty Dozen Diapering Duel.

Tricia Sloma was the MC for the event, and Maureen Mcfadden was crowned the Dutchess of Diapering for her past performance as the diapering champ in the contest.

Several local celebrities competed for the diaper champ crown.

And it was all to benefit B.A.B.E and More, an incentive program that encourages responsible parenting.

"Times are very tough and diapers are very expensive,” said B.A.B.E. coordinator Kathleen Kraner, “You're looking at a time when many families don't have washers, driers, and going to the Laundromat is very expensive, so disposable diapers are a better choice for them, but they're very costly. So it's something that we can provide because they may not have the cash to buy certain things."

Dr. David Visser won the contest for the second-straight year.
