South Bend, Ind. The hearing of a man accused of beating three puppies to death has been moved to June 17.

Joseph Perry, 38, faces multiple counts of "mutilating an animal."

The remains of three puppies were discovered in August behind Perry's home on Ironwood Road in South Bend.

Perry was nowhere to be found at the time of the discovery, but later turned himself in after police issued an arrest warrant.

He then told police, and even went on camera with us, saying he was out of town when the puppies died.

Perry told police he left the dogs in the care of a friend but hadn't been able to contact him.
