South Bend community members are looking for a new bright face to lead today's youth. Ten students from the St. Joseph County Boys and Girls Club are up for a spot as Youth of the Year.
Tuesday night was the first round of judging. Their task was to go through a tough round of interviews from community leaders before final judging.
“Our judges are going to have a very difficult time selecting the top three candidates from each category and then in January each will be paired with an adult mentor and we will work towards ultimately vying towards Youth of the Year in April,” says Bruce Greenberg the CEO of the Family and Children’s Center.
The nationwide winner will get a chance to meet President Obama, and a full ride scholarship to college.
