A South Bend teen, hanging-out past curfew, found himself in Memorial Hospital's emergency room Saturday.
Police say the 17-year-old was walking down the 700 block of North Cushing on the city's northwest side around 2 a.m. when he heard three gunshots.
One of those shots hit the boy in his upper right thigh, forcing him to sprint to a friend's house, reportedly covered in blood.
That friend drove the teen to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery but is expected to survive.
Police have no ID on the gunman.
