Tearful reunion as South Bend Marines return home

Joyful children, wives, mothers, family and friends gathered at the Reserve Center in South Bend, Friday, for at earful reunion they've been waiting for, 7 months.

Bruce Reynolds, one of the Marines returning home said as he walked into the room he felt "extreme happiness." As he pointed to his wife, he said, "I missed the heck out of her."

Another marine, Johnathon Belmarez said the experience was "overwhelming." "It feels amazing to be back here, be able to see them, play with them, hug them and kiss them," he said as he held his small children.

Another Marine yet, Justin Thomas, said he's been waiting for this, since he left.

Emotions were high as the Marines marched through the Reserve Center, on the way to meet the families they left behind.

And for some, Friday was more than a reunion, but the first time they met their newborn children.

"I love her, I loved wher when she was born 3 months ago, [I] watched it on skype, ever since then just been dying to see her," said Thomas.
