Suspects arrested in connection with Elkhart tobacco store robbery

Police arrested two suspects in connection to a robbery at an Elkhart tobacco store last month.

According to Elkhart County Sheriff’s detectives, Nicholas Chaplin, 24, and Abigail Pifer, 19, were charged on Friday, Feb. 2. Officials believe the pair is responsible for robbing Low Bob’s convenience store on S.R. 19 in Elkhart on Jan. 25.

Since Chaplin and Pifer were arrested, two other tobacco stores in Elkhart Co. were robbed, including a second robbery at Low Bob’s.

These robberies are still under official investigation.
