Suspect wanted in armed robbery spree

South Bend police are searching for a man they believe is behind a five-day robbery spree.

The suspect has allegedly robbed four liquor stores at gunpoint since Sunday.

Around midnight, a man walked into the Riverpark "liquor barn" in the 2400 block of East Mishawaka Ave. demanding money and a box of "Newport 100 cigarettes."

Both employees handed over the goods before the gunman fled on foot.

Police said the suspect, seen here in these surveillance photos robbed Mickinley Package Liquors on East Mckinley Avenue just two days later, Shamrock Liquors on East Edison Road on Wednesday and then East Race Liquors on East Colfax Avenue Thursday.

The man is described to be between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-seven.

He was always dressed in all black, including gloves and a hat and he was armed with a silver pistol.
