The U.S. Supreme Court is taking up a controversial case out of Michigan.

WSJM reports that Supreme Court judges will rule on Proposal 2, a ballot measure that outlaws affirmative action in government hiring and college admissions.

The measure passed in 2006, and the ACLU and NAACP filed a challenge that same year.

The date for the Supreme Court hearing on Proposal 2 has not yet been set.
