A stress relief event during finals week used furry friends to redefine "R and R."
Rabbits and Relaxation was the idea behind the study break for Saint Mary’s students Monday morning. The event allowed them to hold, pet, and play with rabbits as a stress reliever as they prepare for exams.
“I always love seeing people, see the rabbits,” says Mara Scott a rabbit breeder from the class of 2013. “I like to educate people about them. People just like walking them, petting them, brushing them, and we want everybody to get A's on their finals. “
Research has shown that petting an animal can reduce stress-induced symptoms, lower blood pressure, boost mood and enhance social interaction.
