Ignoring the travel ban in St. Joseph County has landed three people behind bars.

According to St. Joe County Sheriff Department Lt. Matt Blank, police stopped a truck just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday for breaking the ban.

This happened in the area of Day Road, just east of Kern.

The driver and two occupants were arrested shortly afterward for theft.

Police say the trio took advantage of businesses closed for the weather and stole aluminum carts from Better World Books in Mishawaka.

The $2,500 fine for breaking the ban will also be enforced.
