Northern Berrien County certainly got their first taste of winter on Tuesday morning.
Folks reported getting at least a foot of snow in some parts.
Folks were busy all day digging out of piles of snow.
There were plenty of businesses open but there weren’t many customers.
The main roads were clear but by noon the side roads were still a mess.
If you didn't have four-wheel drive, it was pretty hard to get around.
Otherwise most folks spent the day using a good old fashioned shovel or snow blower.
“It’s not even thanksgiving yet and we have all this snow and usually we seem to get skipped with the lake effect. It kind of goes over us,” says Heather Schmaltz.
Schools in Stevensville were closed along with several other schools in Berrien County.
