A Knox family is mourning after their teenage daughter was killed in a Saturday morning car crash.
Taylor Wagner, 17, died around 11:30 a.m. following a wreck at U.S. 35 south of 200 North in Northern Starke County.
According to a witness, Wagner's vehicle drove off the roadway for an unknown reason, continuing into the ditch where her vehicle rolled three times. That same witness saw Wagner, who police say was not wearing a seat belt at the time, get ejected from the car.
Starke County deputies arrived to find Wagner lying on the ground near the crash site. Paramedics transported the teen to I.U. Health Starke Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. The cause of death was ruled blunt force trauma.
Wagner was a junior at Knox High School.
