St. Joseph County Emergency Management Agency released this statement Tuesday morning:

“The Saint Joseph County Commissioners and the City of South Bend have decided to lift the Warning level restriction starting at 12:00pm today for the City and Saint Joseph County. The travel Advisory will be at a WATCH level for the County and City of South Bend. South Bend and Saint Joseph County offices to include County Courts will remain closed today.

Blowing snow may still cause minor drifting on County roads. Drivers are urged to use caution when going to work. Temperatures are expected to be at -20 to -30 with wind-chill. Citizens should use great care while driving and limit time outdoors.”

Travel Watch means conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a “watch” local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.
