If you were hoping to enjoy some winter sports during your holiday break, you'll have to venture north of Michiana.

St. Joseph County Parks has announced that several of the parks offering winter sports will have to push back their opening date.
Usually St. Patrick's County Park and Ferrettie Baugo Creek County Park start their winter season on Wednesday. They usually offer snow shoeing, inner-tubing and cross-country skiing.

Park directors don't know when they'll be able to offer winter activities. This is all due to lack of snow and cooler temps.

They say in order to kick off winter sports, they have to see at least 8 inches of snow, and temperatures averaging 20 degrees.
