On Wednesday all of St. Joseph County’s department heads were re-appointed by the Republican controlled Board of County Commissioners.
For the first time in decades the board is dominated by the GOP, and plans are in place to fill a recent vacancy on the St. Joseph County Council.
In November of 2012, County Representative Michael Kruk was elected County Treasurer. Now, his council seat will be filled at a caucus of democratic precinct committee people on Jan. 13. Kruk’s term will run through the end of 2014.
Anyone interested in becoming a candidate must submit a letter of interest no later than Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.
