Democrats in St. Joseph County are meeting Saturday, March 2, in order to pick party leaders for the next four years.
The last elected chairman of the county’s Democratic Party, Butch Morgan, resigned after he was charged with ballot petition fraud in connection with the 2008 presidential primary.
Indiana State Senator John Broden stepped in about 15 months ago to finish serving out Morgan’s term.
Sen. Broden told News Center 16 on Tuesday that he plans to run for a full four-year term of his own. He will announce his run at the March meeting in front of the precinct chair and vice chairs.
