'Spring Into Art' a free, family-friendly event

Nappanee Many of us continue to hope spring gets here soon, but while we wait there is an event this weekend that is sure to warm you up. It’s known as “Spring into Art”. '

More than 40 artists will show their work at Coppes Commons in Nappanee. There will be indoor booths featuring watercolors, oils, jewelry, ceramics, photography, fibers, enamel and more.

There is even a special booth for kids to shop. Children between the ages of five to 13 can go to a special booth full of items from different artists and they are all priced “kid-sized”.

On top of all of that, there are free workshops for anyone and everyone to enjoy. One of the instructors who will be at this event is Kerri Bash. She is an illustrator from Argos who specializes in fantasy paintings and drawings. She will show folks how to use ink when creating art.

“Spring Into Art” is this Friday and Saturday. Friday it runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Coppes Commons is located at 401 E. Market Street in Nappanee. Admission and workshops are free to the public.

A percentage of sales go to the Nappanee Public Library. The money will be used to put on community events such as movies in the park or movies at the pool.
