A South Bend woman has been convicted in a fatal drive-by shooting that happened more than two years ago.
Following a three-day trial, a jury found Brittney Watson guilty of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Cornelius Miller.
Her sentencing hearing is set for February 25, where she will face a total of up to 105 years behind bars. Four others, Stephon and Steven Rice, Brandon Rogers and Rene Vasquez were also charged in connection with the murder.
Police say, back in November of 2010, Vasquez drove the others to Miller's home on South Lombardy Drive where they shot him. Miller and Watson had apparently gotten into a fight earlier.
Stephon Rice pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 35 years in prison, with 10 years suspended.
Steven Rice pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, while Rogers and Vasquez each pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal. All three remain in the St. Joseph County Jail awaiting sentencing.
