A South Bend woman was sentenced to 50 years in prison for conspiracy to commit murder.

Brittney Watson stood before a Superior Court judge for sentencing Monday morning after she was found guilty earlier this year on the charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with death of Cornelius Miller.

In November 2010 Miller was killed in a drive by shooting. Officials say Watson was driving four others down South Lombardy St. when one of the members of her group allegedly shot Miller near his home.

Watson was ordered to serve 50 years, with 45 spent in the Dept. of Corrections and five years suspended. She also faces 10 years of probation after she is released.

Four other individuals were charged for their involvement in Miller’s death. Stephon Rice plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and has been sentenced to 35 years in jail, Steven Rice also plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and sentenced to 30 years, and Brandon Rogers and Rene Vasquez each plead to assisting a criminal. Rogers was sentenced to six years while Vasquez is awaiting sentencing on Feb. 26.
