Mayor Buttigieg comments on video relased for former College Football Hall of Fame building

DTSB has released a new video highlighting South Bend's assets, hoping to generate more interest in the former College Football Hall of Fame Building.

The more than three-and-a-half-minute long clip showcases how South Bend is transforming its proud industrial history into a thriving high-tech corridor.

The video then turns its attention to the now-vacant facility that once housed the College Football Hall of Fame.

The city is looking for a "strategic partner" to repurpose the downtown site, and recently issued a nationwide call for offers on the building.

The narrator points out the site's ground-level atrium that could be used for shops and restaurants along with its outdoor plaza.

“We want this site to be known to anybody who might have a good idea and the funds to have make that idea a reality,” said Mayor Pete Buttigieg. “You're talking about a great structure, a very unique location and we have high hopes for the building. And we need to get the word out so everybody knows about it.”

Proposals are due July 31.
