South Bend man's phone number accidentally printed on Meijer prescription bottles

A printing error at a Meijer pharmacy has a South Bend man's phone ringing off the hook.

About two weeks ago Elton Thompson got home from vacation and was flooded with phone calls non-stop. People kept asking for the Meijer pharmacy. Most of the customers use the Meijer pharmacy on Portage Avenue.

He finally asked one woman why she was calling his house and she said it was the number printed on the label for refills or pharmacy questions.

Thompson has received hundreds of phone calls from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m.

He can't figure how his number was accidentally printed on the RX label especially since he doesn't even use the Meijer pharmacy.

Thompson says, “There was a lady that I did talk to, when she called and she said, ‘Is this Meijers?’ and I said no. I asked her how did you get our number and she said well it's on the label.”
Leaders at Meijer say they plan to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

They also apologize for any inconvenience and plan on following up with Elton Thompson personally.
