South Bend leaders were fired-up about an issue that involves Walmart on Wednesday.
Council Members say the national chain's West Ireland Road store, is selling handguns and tactical weapons.
That's a violation of a June 2011 agreement the city and Walmart came to.
So Wednesday morning, the Council sent a letter to the retailer asking that it become a quote, "good corporate citizen" by pulling dangerous weapons from its shelves.
“Rounds can shoot through a bulletproof vest so we're concerned about our police officer's safety and anybody else because if it can go through a vest,” says Tim Scott of the South Bend Common Council. “It can also go through walls and windows and everything else."
Walmart has yet to reply to the council's request.
