South Bend expected to be busy with ND graduation and other events

The hustle and bustle in South Bend will be roaring this weekend.

It's Notre Dame's graduation plus the city is hosting a few other events.

At Sweet Pickens floral shop in South Bend they are very busy putting together arrangements, not only for graduation but proms as well.

Some orders starting coming in weeks ago while last minutes calls are still being made for what's left in stock.

Families like the Kilpatricks, that live along Angela Boulevard, started planning for a big Notre Dame graduation party weeks ago.

They ordered a custom made sign to put in their front yard along Angela Boulevard in South Bend in honor of all of the 2013 grads.

“We just thought all of the families driving in on this street,” says homeowner Marci Kilpatrick. “It's such a major street. It would be fun to cheer everybody on I guess.”

More than three thousand students will be graduating at Notre Dame this weekend and that includes undergrad and graduate degrees.

Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, will serve as the commencement speaker. He will also receive an honorary degree.
