A South Bend Police Officer has been arrested a second time for driving drunk.
Jeff McKee was hired to the force in 2007. Since then, he's been taken into custody twice in LaPorte County, where he lives.
On October 22 last year, McKee was arrested for driving drunk, while in his personal car. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving, and the South Bend Board of Public Safety gave him a 21 day suspension.
Just two days ago, McKee was pulled over when police reportedly found him driving with a flat, shredded and smoking tire.
Police noticed a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, and McKee allegedly whispered to the officer, "Man, I’m a South Bend Police Officer."
He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, and driving with a suspended license. Both are violations of his plea deal. The South Bend Police Department has no comment at this time.
