South Bend Common Council holding session Wednesday for controversial recordings

We are expecting to soon know more about an effort to get some controversial recordings involving South Bend Police released to the public.

The Common Council is holding an executive session right now with legal counsel, Attorney E. Spencer Walton, a partner with the May Oberfeil Lorber Law Firm.

You may recall, they hired outside legal counsel, which produced a written opinion saying the calls were legally taped.

The phone calls led to the demotion of the Police Chief and the firing of the Communications Director.
