Folks got their first peek inside Pet Refuge's new home during an open house Friday night. They're moving into a warehouse on South Burnett Drive on the south side of South Bend, off Ireland Road.
The space is nearly twice as big as pet refuge's currently facility on 6th Street in Mishawaka. Volunteers got a peek inside Friday night which, once renovated, will be a better environment for pets and workers.
“The beauty of having this new building is we'll be able to segregate our cats from our dogs more, we'll be able to segregate our healthy animals from our sick animals and then we'll be able to orchestrate things more efficiently is what it amounts to,” says Pam Comer Pet Refuge President.
Pet Refuge hopes to complete all of the renovations and move in by Christmas of next year.
