Police are investigating after a small plane made a crash landing in a cornfield.
It happened just before 9:00 p.m., north of U.S. 6 and east of County Road 13.
That's east of the Nappanee Airport.
50-year-old David Cooper of Edwardsburg was flying his ultra light mini-max from the airport when he had to make an emergency landing in a cornfield because of engine problems.
Cooper was not injured and the aircraft suffered only minor damage.
He had been heading to a private airstrip in Ligonier.
The incident is still under investigation and has been forwarded to the FAA for review.
